After presenting his latest budget, it appears that either Obama is the dumbest president we have ever had or he is counting on forcing the Congress to do something foolish in their first responsive gambit to his budget. He is counting on them doing something drastic to Social Security and Medicare. Then the Democrats will go on the attack with hundreds of lies about how Republicans are the enemies of all retirees and all elderly Americans.
I am retired and will be damned unhappy if the Republicans fall into this trap. As an elderly American and a retiree who paid many thousands of dollars into Social Security and Medicare I do not want serious cuts in Social Security or Medicare to be the first cuts our Representatives make.
Our Congress has not uttered one word that we have heard about cutting the billions of dollars currently being spent on immigration and specifically illegal immigration. In fact there has been very little discussion about our immigration policies in total.
If our Congress makes substantial reductions in all aspects of our immigration spending (legal and illegal), most seniors wouldn’t have any problems at all with intelligent tinkering with our Social Security and Medicare programs.
Our existing immigration policies (or lack thereof) are currently destroying our welfare systems, our criminal protection systems and our educational system. We are allowing too many legal immigrants into the country and we shouldn’t be allowing any illegal immigrants at all to come here solely for the purpose of the free largess available to them. All immigrants allowed into this country should be coming here for the purpose of becoming Americans and of becoming productive citizens of our society.
Other areas of spending that must be reduced before we will accept reductions in those benefits which we paid many thousands of dollars into for assistance in our old age are the elimination of all new government jobs since 2008.
We want all of Obama’s Czar Positions eliminated and pay for these positions de-funded. We want to see our country return to being run as a Republic and within the constraints of our Constitution.
We want to see benefits for all Congressional Representatives to be reduced to those levels available to We the People. Our employees should not get better benefits than their employers, We the People. It is time once again for our Representatives to understand that they work for We the People.
We want our representatives to get back to using common sense and we don’t want our Con Artist president to bamboozle them in the coming negotiations which will take place with our budget.
My advice to our Congress is; stop pontificating and get serious about solving our country’s financial problems. Stop worrying about getting re-elected, if you do your jobs and take care of our country and of our country’s American citizens, you will be re-elected.
